Job Description

Balsam International is looking for a Website Operations Specialist who will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our portfolio of eCommerce websites. The Website Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting cross-functional teams by creating and maintaining website content, management of our digital asset repository, launching new products and categories, and supporting our website operations processes.

What you’ll be doing:

Website Content Update and Maintenance

  • Controls, uploads, and assigns appropriate data to product and digital assets to ensure the accurate display on various customer-facing web pages.
  • Build, update, and maintain static or interactive web pages that ensure latest digital assets and content information is presented to customers.
  • Ensures web page design and technical specifications are met, and digital assets are optimized to support average load time goal of less than 6 seconds.
  • Supports merchandising campaigns by updating website pages and implementing A/B Tests that follows design specification and meets launch deadlines.
  • Creates and maintains website coupons and promotions for cross-functional teams.
  • Updates and maintains website navigation structure and ensures it follows business requirements and specifications.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains Product Category Pages and ensures it meets technical requirements, including digital assets, metadata, page URL, and database queries.

Site Audit and QA

  • Participates in New Product Information QA, and flags or resolves digital asset and product information issues and discrepancies.
  • Conducts routine audit and QA to make sure website is working as expected.
  • Conducts routine audit and QA to make sure merchandising related components and pages are updated as per the defined sale merchandising schedule.
  • Participates in conducting business validation activities for newly launched functions and features to ensure it meets business requirements.

Documentation

  • Documents website operations and maintenance processes and bridges identified gaps to ensure efficient process flows.
  • Updates all documentation in a timely manner and housing it in the appropriate knowledge base site. 

Troubleshooting and Resolution

  • Performs troubleshooting of digital assets and product information issues using the digital asset management tool, product information management system, and content management system.
  • Troubleshoot spikes in website average load time speed and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve and ensure average load time goal of less than 6 seconds is met.
  • Participates in troubleshooting activities during launch by identifying probable causes and provide resolution to medium complexity bugs.

Process Improvement

  • Ensures that the standards for uploading, naming, and categorizing assets are met by following set standards for image organization.
  • Identifies efficiency issues and creates tools or workarounds to improve turnaround times for various website operations tasks and the accuracy of the information found in all our websites. 
  • Contribute to Web Operations’ roadmap initiatives that create either efficiency gains or positive cost impact for the business.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary owner of Digital Asset System, and other tools and processes by conducting regular housekeeping to remove or archive outdated data and update or scrub others for future reference or use.
  • Educates and trains other teams on the use and functionality of various Ecommerce systems or tools, including Digital Asset System.
  • Responsible for creating accounts for teams that are the main users of Widen.
  • Performs other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a good academic record, preferably in IT, Computer Science, and MIS.
  • Minimum two (2) to three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Some experience in Widen or Digital Asset Management (DAM).
  • Some experience in Hybris or any Content Management System (CMS).

Nice to have:

  • HTML and CSS Certification, a plus

Location: Our corporate offices are based in Northern California with a Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ) in the Philippines. Company executives visit the Philippines regularly, so team members attend in-person meetings from time to time. The Website Operations Specialist position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.

Our must-haves:

  • Must be willing to attend occasional in-person meetings depending on the status of the pandemic. For 2022, all in-person gatherings in Balsam are suspended until further notice. The safety of our team members is of utmost importance.
  • Must have a back-up laptop or desktop for use if primary laptop encounters issues.
  • Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS.
  • Must have a back-up internet connection of the same speed, if primary connection becomes spotty.

Note: An online assessment will also be part of the recruitment process.

Status: This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

Hardware Provision: Company-issued Laptop will be provided on first day.
